Recover All

There was a time when David and the hundreds of men with him lost everything. Their wives, children, possessions, and properties were taken away from them by enemies. Despite their distress, they still had God, prompting David to enquire of the Lord, for God was with him and the hundreds of men.

1 Samuel 30:8-10 (KJV) - 'And David enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed. But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor.'

With prayer, everything is possible. After he enquired of the Lord, the Lord gave David the go-ahead to pursue, assuring him that he would overtake and recover all.

When you lose something, it does not mean the end of it. A loss is not permanent until you give up on it and stop pursuing. By pursuing, the grace to overtake is released upon you as you remain aligned with the Lord. In destiny, overtaking is allowed. The grace that helps you to overtake is the grace of speed; through speed, you overtake, and when you overtake, you begin to recover all. This was the Lord's strategic pattern for David and the hundreds of men with him to recover all they had lost.

1 Samuel 30:18-20 (KJV) - 'And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives. And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all. And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drove before those other cattle, and said, This is David's spoil.'

What you've lost isn't better than what you have remained with. Look at the story of David; see the situation he was in, what was happening around him. He lost it all, but he didn't lose God. God is on your side. God is with you despite whatever is going on in your life. Trust the Lord for recovery, continue praying about it, and surely you shall overtake and recover all.

In this year of recovering all, God wants you to recover whatsoever you've lost. In every area of your life, it is God's will for you to recover all. What the enemies took from you shall be restored double to you in Jesus' Name.

Meditation

Job 14:7 (KJV) - 'For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.'

Job 42:7-10 (KJV) - 'And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job. So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the Lord commanded them: the Lord also accepted Job. And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.'

Declaration

I believe in Your Word, Lord. I know You are with me. I know You're guiding me. I know I'm in Your will. Thank You for having plans for me, plans to prosper me and give me a future. Thank You, Lord, for comforting my heart, for giving me the courage to carry on and continue in life. Give me the capacity I need to pursue, and as I pursue, cause me to overtake and recover all in Jesus' Name.
