Though there is such power in one’s identity, many struggle to understand what their identity is. It’s not your career or a hobby you have taken a liking to. Rather, your identity is who you are in Christ Jesus.
Paul said in Galatians 2:20, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me" (KJV).
The power of walking in your identity is in knowing you have received the life of Jesus. This life is what fuels who you are, and it is filled with power. This identity is something you carry every day.
You can't fail; failure is far away from you. Everything that Christ is, that is who you are. Whatever isn't found in Christ Jesus can't be found in you.
The term “Christian” first came about because people noticed that these believers were like Jesus. There was something about them that was exactly like our LORD. After salvation, the old passes away, and now the newness begins. 2 Corinthians 5:17 states, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (KJV).
No matter your past sins, if you’re in Christ Jesus, your future is spotless. Meditate on this word today, and allow it to change your world. Praise the LORD!
There is, therefore, now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1 (KJV)
